I, for some reason, signed up for the Spanish SAT Subject Test.
I was on a roll i guess. I figured i might as well take a 3rd (in addition to MathII and Chem), but i am now having some second thoughts on it. I have always had a knack for languages, and spanish has been cake at school, but after 3 years of mediocre spanish classes, will i be prepared for the spanish SATII?

As in,
What should i expect?
Should i buy a study book?
Do i need to study a lot?
Do i need to be nearly fluent to do well?
Would a twisty black mustache and a preference to Columbian coffee and spicy foods help my chances?

If you can answer any of these questions, i will personally... read your post.

thank you.

I don’t know bro, why don’t you take a practice test and find out for yourself.

Personally, I haven’t taken it, but I was too scared to take it after even taking AP Spanish. It looked rather difficult, so I would think it’d be difficult to score 750+ with 3 years of spanish. I suppose you probably should get a prep book to practice for the test if you are going to take it still.

SAT Spanish = easiest test I have ever taken. I finished in 25 minutes and got an 800. And I’ve only had three years of Spanish.

^ Really? Can anyone else comment on their experiences with the test?

Yes I would like someone to verify bmrao as well… btw silverturtle, are you fluent in spanish?

^ No, just proficient.

soooooo it is really easy? The opinions on the test so far are too polar to give me a good idea of what to actually expect for myself.

Language exams in both SAT II and AP are generally difficult…

It really was easy. Vocabulary was straightforward, and I felt that the passages were almost laughable. However, I am an IB student, so I don’t know how IB Spanish compares to AP Spanish, but it certainly gave me ample preparation.
