Hamilton vs Dartmouth

Have a friend who got into both of these schools. What are the differences? Advantages/disadvantages?

Is Dartmouth much more like a university in terms of "getting lose in the crowd" and a lot of TA use?

Dartmouth is bigger. Both have very similar academic atmospheres. You can’t go wrong either way.

I went to Dartmouth years ago, and my son is currently a rising Sophomore at Hamilton. At Dartmouth, where there are about 1,000 students per class, you can go all four years and there will be classmates that you will not have met. At Hamilton, where there are about 1,800 students in total, you will meet your classmates. I believe that class sizes will generally be a bit larger at Dartmouth, as you might expect. Fraternities play a larger, more dominant role at Dartmouth than at Hamilton. Hamilton has almost no distribution requirements, while Dartmouth’s program is a bit more structured. Dartmouth is higher ranked and more prestigious, but Hamilton is also highly regarded by people “in the know”, particularly in Boston and New York. Both Dartmouth and Hamilton have strong alumni ties.

thanks i appreciate the feedback.

anyone else have any other opinions?
