My S22 was waitlisted to HPS college after applying Early Action. Any one have any experience with waitlist at HPS? Do they historically let people in off waitlist? Any insight would be appreciated.
Waitlist or deferred to regular decision? Deferred is not waitlisted.
Deferred means they’re going to look at you in context of the other applicants in the next round.
Typically you are not waitlisted until after regular decision.
According to the last Common Data Set (it’s 2016-17) so old, they don’t have a wait list. Or didn’t back then.
At this time, I’m assuming you are “deferred” and that simply means your final decision will come out with the regular decision students - who have to apply by Feb 1st.
Good luck.
It doesn’t look like HSC has made recent waitlist data public. A number of schools will waitlist students directly from ED or EA rounds.
If your S is still interested in attending, he should send a letter of continued interest to his AO. The LOCI would note any new achievements, first semester grades, and that your S would attend if accepted (if true). After sending that it would be reasonable to ask the AO about the waitlist and how they expect to use it this round.
Good luck.
