Hand Scoring Sucsess!

Just wanted to let you guys know that hand scoring worked for me. I started with a 2,060 on the March Test (670 Wr, 690 M, 700 R) but when I got my Question and Answer service I noticed that I had gridded two math questions wrong. I sent a letter to the College Board requesting hand scoring and yesterday I got a new score report showing a 710 M! I went online and it was online as well!

That's great, does the hand scoring work for AP exams also? So does that mean that after you get your score, if you suspect a gridding error, you can demand it to be hand scored? (with addition money of course)

Ya basically, I think it can be done for AP Exams too. I think it was $30.00 for the SAT (does not include a re-reading of the essay).

was the $30.00 really worth 20 points?

I felt that my answer sheet was kind of messy and I'm afraid that the machine won't read it correctly. So all I have to do is wait for my AP score and if it seems like my messy answer sheet affected the score than all I have to do is request a regrade by hand?

I think so because it was from 690 to 710 (breaking the 700 barrier) and it also brought the percentile from 92 to 95.

The process for ordering it is described here: <a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/exgrd_rep.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/exgrd_rep.html</a>. All the way at the bottom.

i think if they find that they have made a mistake, they refund u the money they charge for hand scoring

The College Board acts like it's more confusing than that, but I don't know for sure.

actually i think they only refund for sat hand scoring mistakes not ap

should i get my math section of sat hand scored , has hand scoring helped anyone?? I got a 670m and was expection 700+

It helped me, see the first post of this thread, (But I know there was a problem from my Q&S form.

so what do you think i do ?

how do you get your sat 1 hand scored?

I dunno, I doubt, since there it is ullikely a problem with gridding like there was for me you'll get anything, but you never know. If you decide to do it call the college board they'll tell you the process.

"I noticed that I had gridded two math questions wrong"

dmctNY8: Did you mix up the grids or something...or miss a bubble. Does the graders be able to correct mistakes like this? Or was it more like an eraser/pencil mark problem?

Does this work with the PSAT too? I had several right answers but filled them in incorrectly?

guys, what if ur hand-scored score is lower, do they take the higher one? also, is there any website with the rules and procedure for hand-scoring cuz i cant find one, and the one DMCTNY8 gave is for APs...

bump...

Here is the information about SAT Hand Scoring: <a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/prof/counselors/tests/sat/scores/score_reports_svcs.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/prof/counselors/tests/sat/scores/score_reports_svcs.html</a></p>

I don't know if it was an eraser problem or what but, without being 100% sure, I would assume to the 20 points came from two questions.

One I entered, acording to the Q&S form ".5/8" when the correct answer was actully 5/8, and the other I entered 2.51 when the correct answer was 5/2 or 2.5.
