Hard Classes in Junior/Senior Year?

Do colleges like APs in Junior or Senior year? im deciding APBIO junior or senior year. Problem is Junior year I'm taking 2 other APs, so 3 APs is a lot cos I have 1 AP 10th grade. Or Senior year with 4 APs altogether?

Forgot to add 1 AP to 3 AP is a lot of transitioning. Also I have to work super extra hard in APBio cause I’m not super strong in science but I need an AP

Balance is key. Can you handle it? I admittedly, took 4 APs junior year (from none sophomore year), and while it showed a “rigorous course load” I was very stressed out and it may have been responsible for my downturn in grades. Is Biology something you are interested in? Have you done well in the previous Honors level course? (if offered) Things to consider.

3 doesn’t sound unreasonable, but I don’t know if “needing an AP” is the best reason to take it per se. Studying hard is fine, but if you can split it up evenly between junior and senior year, I don’t see the downsides of doing so, unless you have other courses you want to fit in your schedule.

What are the two other AP classes that you signed up to take for junior year? If they aren’t difficult classes, you could probably try to fit them into your schedule. Of course, if you feel that it would be best for you to postpone taking AP Biology until senior year, you might want to go with your instinct. At the same time, consider that with the experience of taking an AP class this year, you’ll definitely be more prepared for that advanced level of curriculum. I also feel like taking three AP classes Junior year, and three Senior year, would be more comfortable for you, especially considering all the time my sister had to take in her senior year for applications and scholarship essays.

Junior

APlang, APGov, HonorsPrecalc, Spanish Level 2, not sure AP bio

Senior

AP Calc (AB or BC not sure), AP Psych, AP Lit, Spanish Level 2, not sure AP Bio

also, the thing is that junior year is SAT craze
I could balance out 3 APs each year…

Hmm. You’re going into Sophomore year, right? If you’re worried about the SAT craze, you could start studying ahead of time, during Sophomore year and the summer before Junior year. That way when it get’s to Junior year, you’ll already be pretty prepared. I actually wish that I started studying for it ahead of time.

If you’re planning to take AP Biology in senior year though, and at that point you’re still unsure if you’d be able to handle it, I would recommend taking AP Calculus AB over BC.
