Hard decision time...Boston U, Stanford, or Yale

Hmm…Yale!
Congrats on your acceptances!

I dont know about readjusting once accepted during the first year - I am not an expert in that area.

What I do know is that a scholarship is given to you and renewed each year as long as you keep up certain GPA and whatever else is required by the scholarship.

Any FA is contingent on annual renewal and also based on current circumstances at the time of renewal. So if they gave it to you because you have an older sibling in college at the moment, then the moment the sibling graduates, they can decide your parents can afford to pay more. If your parents income goes up, same can apply. OTOH, in this bad economy, when people have lost jobs, the students have petitioned the school and schools are trying to meet their need.

So as long as you have no older siblings in college and your family income does nt change, you may not have an issue in future years. If you have a concern about the school adjusting your scholarship the moment they receive your acceptance, you should check with them to ensure it will not change the first year.

Well that makes it a bit easier.

Thank you for the info texaspg. My mother is unemployed at the moment, so that definitely helped our financial aid until she (hopefully) gets a job, in which case I would understand receiving less aid. I will definitely call and ask about the changing financial aid in the first year.

haha indeed it does manarius :)

Dont forget to ask them if they can give more!
