I always see a lot of these forums, but they involve every subject. If you are going to make a hardest AP forum, then you need to distinguish between math/science and the humanities.
Here are the math/science AP's
AP Calc BC, AP Calc AB, AP Stat, AP Computer Science A, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Physics B, AP Physics C, AP Environmental Science
Ranking:
1) AP Calc BC/AP Physics C
2)AP Chem
3) AP Bio
4) AP Calc AB
5) AP Computer Science A/AP Physics B
6) AP Stat
7) AP Environmental Science
I have personally only taken AP Calc AB, AP Comp Sci, and AP Stat. However, I have friends that compare their APs. So I know that AP stat and env science are jokes.

Though I have taken/am taking only Physics C, Calc BC, Chemistry, Physics B, and Computer Science A, I would say:
1.) AP Physics C
2.) AP Chem
3.) AP Bio
4.) AP Calc BC
5.) AP Physics B
6.) AP Computer Science A
7.) AP Calc AB
8.) AP Statistics
9.) AP Environmental Science

I would rank them as follows:

1) AP Physics C: E&M
2) AP Biology
3) AP Physics C: Mechanics
4) AP Chemistry
5) AP Physics B
6) AP Computer Science A
7) AP Statistics
8) AP Calculus BC
9) AP Environmental Science
10) AP Calculus AB

I wouldn’t rate any of them as “hard” except possibly Physics C E&M. Note that I am probably biased to some of them as I self studied some, including Statistics. Had I taken a Statistics class I probably would put BC above Statistics, but I can’t say for sure.

I consider Psychology to be a science more than a social science, even though it’s classified as social science by CB, and obviously has non-scientific elements. If I were to rank it, I’d place it at 10), the 2nd easiest after Calculus AB.

1)Biology
2)Physics C (E/M)
3)Physics C (M)
4)Calculus BC
5)Physics B
6)Chemistry
7)Computer Science A
8)Enviromental Science
9)Calculus AB
10)Statistics

no way environmental science is harder than calc ab…

Biology is NOT harder than Chemistry, among the many other problems with this ranking.

Hahaha yea biology harder than both physics c’s, physics b, chem, and calc? You’re either joking or you haven’t taken any of those classes

1) AP Physics C: E&M
2) AP Chemistry
3) AP Physics C: Mechanics
4) AP Biology
5) AP Physics B
6) AP Computer Science A
7) AP Calculus BC
8) AP Statistics
9) AP Calculus AB
10) AP Environmental Science

BC isn’t that hard. Physics C is probably the hardest, followed by Chem and Bio. Then BC.
Then Physics B. The rest are sort of whatever.

Physics B is harder for a lot of people than bio, as most haven’t taken an honors physics class before so it’s an introduction to a bunch of new topics and there’s no background.

This is really subjective… difficulty depends on a lot of factors. I found Calculus AB to be much harder than Bio or Chem… I would say the reason for that is math aptitude.

@ HONORLIONS - Were all entitled to our opinions. I for one find Biology to be much more difficult than Chemistry, because Chem is my favorite subject. If there are so many other "problems " with my rankings then why don’t you post yours.

@ jspeed12 - I’m actually taking Calc AB and Physics B as well as self-studying Calc BC, Chem, and Statistics. Unlike a lot of people I suck at memorization and the love Chem and I don’t see what’s so difficult about it.

Technomusic I was actually thinking about it and I actually think I agree with you for that exact same reason. I have an A in ap physics, chem and in ap calc but I only got like a B in bio. Memorization is not my forte. History is also pretty hard for me
Idk if its necessarily harder though, I think its just we’re not the best at it

I laugh at people who criticize others for a SUBJECTIVE list. (honorlions)

I for one, found AP English Language to be harder than AP Physics B.

And yes, Bio can be very hard if you aren’t good at memorizing things.

It’s funny how I posted and angry response to previous post, and the only reason I feel guilty about it is because of the grammatical errors that are in it due to rushing. sigh

Anyway, how a person ranks their AP’s depend on several factors that altogether makes it very controversial. Aspects that effect a person’s opinion of an AP include the difficulty of the teachers, how the material is taught, how the exam is given, how the exam is scored, how one learns, and many more.

However, there are some AP’s that are obviously harder than others:
Calculus BC is harder that Calculus AB
Physics C (both) is harder that Physics B

-This may not even be true. Physics B covers more material and has a harder grading curve, but Physics C is more in-depth and test more advanced concepts. It’s like comparing Math I and Math II. Math II tests much more difficult concept than Math I but students, on average, score 50 points higher. This can be argued that those who take Math Level II are better prepared…

That’s the problem with controversies; they never end.
A very good idea for a thread though :)

I know someone who took all three physics tests in a year. 5 on C: Mech, 4 on B, and 2 on C: E&M. Obviously, she was much more geared towards the mechanics aspect of physics. Also, like the above poster said, B has a harder curve and covers a much more broad spectrum of material. I think 5 on both physics C exams is harder than 5 on B, but getting a 5 on one or the other may be easier for some people than a 5 on B.

Obviously, Calculus BC is harder than AB (the curves are hardly different, about 1-2% easier for BC, but you get an AB subscore for BC anyway). But for the rest, every person might have a different opinion.

To each his own.
