Hardest engineering major?

^ Then get some :stuck_out_tongue: We’re engineers; we make enough to afford as much ice cream as we want. Now go out and buy some rum raisin!

Never tried it before, but it’s on my list now.

For me, it’s EECS. And Bear Foot Brownie!

EECS? I’ve never heard of that flavor before. Where do you get it? Or is it not ice cream, in which case it hardly fits this discussion, eh?

^^^ Hahahahahahahaaaa

Oh, and civil was generally considered the easiest. EE at the top, ME next, all the others, then Civil. I don’t know enough about what courses CE’s took/take to say it’s true. I just know I didn’t like the EE classes and I thought it was hard.

Someone doesn’t understand the game.

A question we HAVEN’T explored yet: Is ice cream or gelato better? And what constitutes “better”?

gelato > ice cream. Fact.

For the newbies wondering why we are talking about ice cream flavors: The topic of this thread has been covered MANY times on this board. The search feature is your friend. Not only that, it’s a pointless question. So some of us started discussing ice cream about the 100th time this type of thread was started. I think I will save this post and just paste it in every time the subject comes up.

Maine, I think we simply need a stickied, locked thread entitled “Which engineering discipline is most difficult (or: what’s with all the ice cream talk?)”

It can explain how, much like choosing the best ice cream flavor, choosing the most difficult engineering major is simply a matter of personal opinion and there is no universally correct answer.

Communications.

Strategic Communications :)

Costco has gelato at the food court. Unreal, and a great bargain.

Now, without google, which famous software application is alleged to have been named after an ice cream store?

“choosing the most difficult engineering major is simply a matter of personal opinion and there is no universally correct answer.”

That’s true, but the OP was asking for personal opinions. And the responses will change over the years as technology changes (CS is becoming more popular and EE is possibly becoming less popular), and depending upon who is active on the board at that time.

The OP’s title wasn’t deceiving, so if people can’t stand to see the same question posed yet again, then why even open it? I’d never seen the question before and was curious what others thought. I had no clue what all the ice cream talk was about and thought it was odd that people were being so random and unhelpful.

Also, the OP has 15 posts … do you really think s/he knows that there is even a search function? I didn’t when I first started using the board. I wouldn’t have felt very welcome if that was the kind of response I got when I first started. I hope the Skyy90 hasn’t left CC forever.

Every single forum I have ever visited has had a search function, so yes, I do think (s)he should know about that beforehand.

Because some of us like to try and keep this board productive instead of a means of disseminating misinformation. Every time one of these threads pops up, it becomes a ****ing match between a group of people who insist their major is the most difficult because it makes them feel better about themselves. It contributes nothing of value to this message board and, at best, is just a harmless waste of space and at worst, gives prospective engineering students the wrong idea.

mothergoldenbear, there IS a stickied FAQ thread at the top of the forum. It’s about as obvious as you can get. New members can look there before asking the same questions that have been asked many times before.

And I agree with boneh3ad. It’s a pointless topic. I actually don’t mind answering the same question that’s been asked before if it’s a good one. For example, I have answered quite a few posts such as, “Should I go into architectural engineering or architecture?”

I’ve added “READ BEFORE POSTING!” to the title of the FAQ thread.

Where are the ice cream flavor rankings?.. Top 10? Top 20?

You can’t expect us to make a decision on which ice cream to eat without rankings… come on people!

US News Ice Cream Rankings:

 1. Rum Raisin
 2. Mint Chocolate Chip
 3. Cookie Dough
 4. Pistachio
 5. Double Chocolate

If you can’t get a Top-5 ice cream flavor, you should cease to exit.

Pfft, gelato is superior to all ice creams.
