I’ve heard that it is harder to get into Harvard if you’re applying for Engineering so I was wondering if there’s a chance it would be easier if I’m applying for an English Major?
Also, do you think its harder to get into Harvard as an international student?
You’re choice of major will largely be ignored unless you have done something truly significant in the field. Being an English major is nothing special unless you have won numerous prestigious writing awards and/or have been published by a reputable publishing company (i.e. not self-published).
IT IS HARDER for internationals to get in. The acceptance rate is something like 3%. Harvard’s generous need-blind financial aid policy for internationals attracts thousands of super-qualified applicants from all over the world.
Good luck!
Harvard does not appear to do frosh admission by major.
Generally, you should expect it to be more difficult to get into US universities as an international student.
