By double digits, 62-51. On national TV no less. I don't think Harvard basketball has ever been on national TV before. Don't know if it was a fluke or a sign of great things to come, but for a Harvard alum, it was certainly a fun game to watch.

Wow! the new coach must be thrilled. We saw their local game vs Stanford - wasn't pretty, they lost about 50-100, and I am sure Michigan is ranked higher than Stanford?

Darn. Wish I had seen that. I used to be a Harvard cheerleader. I normally don't follow sports now, but that game would have been an exception.

I see that the victory was extra sweet since it was the Harvard coach's first season with the team after being fired by Michigan for not winning enough even though he was admired for his clean team and having high academic standards.

Did sportscaster James Brown get to do the commentary for his alma mater, Harvard? I remember when was the pride of Harvard's team after being recruited by Bobby Kennedy.

Not sure who the announcers were, but they seemed as stunned as everyone else. Here's a write up of the game from ESPN:

ESPN - Michigan vs. Harvard Recap, December 01, 2007

I see it was in Lavietes - was it really on national TV? Can't believe they had a game on national TV there, but must have been a LOT of fun to be at!

deja vu anybody?

Anyone who thinks Harvard people got no school spirit should watch the clip linKed to in post #5.

Woo hoo! Harvard is rocking this year! Esp after winning "The Game" against yale.

Though it seems like the whole Boston area is doing well...Red Sox (world series win), Celtics, Bruins...etc.

...It's ironic because as I'm typing this, I'm wearing a Michigan sweatshirt...and I'm not even applying there...I'm applying to Harvard. lol.

Michigan isn't very good this year, but I'm still very surprised H won. H should be very happy w/ Tommy Amaker, he's a high quality guy and good coach, hopefully he'll be able to turn the program around.
