Some comments:

  • My friend called and they said it "doesn't necessarily" meany you were rejected. Make of what what you will.
  • Last year, at least one person got in without a call. He posted about it on the thread.
  • In my opinion, and if last year is any sign, it's generally bad news; but a few people might get lucky.

@nicoleiii I called Harvard and the person I spoke said it might be a glitch but then again it could be a glitch caused from them uploading all the results which sadly means we may have been rejected since we werent called

For those of you with portal changes, what was your major? I am wondering if they go through the rounds to look for spots based on specific majors. Like for example maybe they are only updating the CS/ STEM people today. Just speculation. Best of luck to everyone!

@getmeintoUPENN Not everyone will be rejected today; some people will be put on the extended waitlist. It MAY be a glitch, but that doesn’t mean it’s meaningless. I still don’t like it and expect everyone with the change to get rejected.

That being said, some people have gotten in in past years with just an update. So, I’d imagine if you’re one of the lucky ones to have gotten in, it might disappear too. Who knows, who knows…

@getmeintoUPENN Well, they don’t technically have an “extended waitlist”. What it means though is that you’ll just be left on the waitlist, in case those who were already accepted decline, other admitted students drop out (“summer melt”), or for the z-list.

Okay people with mysterious/disappeared status - do y’all see any update? Any written decision?

Also, what time or day will applicants be able to see what the disappeared status page means? Like when will decision be available if portal is blank based off previous years trend?

Last year it appears the portals updated at 7 PM ET.

I just DMed simsayer, the international who got in from england on reddit. He tells me the waitlist status section is missing also. It can be an acceptance or a rejection guys.

Did anyone get a phone call today? Last year did they get phone calls the day they updated portals?

I think we’ve basically confirmed the disappearance means an update was posted to your portal. Good or bad, it’s going to be over for some of us tonight at 7.

He was part of the second wave. All I’m saying is that it can happen though. For some admits, they may not feel the need to make a call. There may have been some in the first wave who just didn’t post.
