Harvard Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Also, does anyone know if financial aid plays a significant role in Stanford admissions for international students? I know that they are need-aware so much will it be taken into consideration? Thanks.

Yup. Needing a lot of aid impacts admissions decisions at need-aware colleges.

Hey guys

I am so worried about the academics part of my application.
I got a pretty bad but climbing overall GPA with a few heavyweight math modeling awards and theses.

Did most of y’all submit test scores?

I think the “climbing aspect” of your GPA is important to consider here. I think the AOs would be able to see your improvement over the years which shows that you’re hardworking and determined, (especially if your first semester marks this year are excellent). Also those math awards should also contribute.

I have a quick question as well! So for Harvard’s admissions, I know they don’t have any sort of minimum or maximum, but do you think they kind of have to accept some people with physical (or mental/learning) disabilities? Since they have an entire office dedicated to this, I would assume they have to take in a certain number so the office is actually providing some use.

I’m international so I was only able to submit my SAT score which wasn’t even that good haha

random question but I found out nov. 13 that I was a semi finalist for the coca-cola scholarship so I sent admissions a letter through my portal-do u guys think they received/looked at it

Thanks!

I didn’t submit mine. Did you?

i think if you’re someone with a disability, that could potentially be a hook for you.
i personally don’t know the number of applicants or past admits that specified that they had a form of a disability, but i do think it would make sense to admit a student with a disability not only because it shows that you pushed through a hard life circumstance, but it helps add to a diverse class with students of different backgrounds as well.

I think Harvard is always doing a holistic review, and disabilities are not the key factor to let someone in. Usually, these students will have more obstacles to overcome than normal people, and this trait makes them special and mature. Even though, I don’t think Harvard is giving a quota for this kind of people in the admission process.
I think having that office is normal for every uni because each uni has a huge amount of people, and they have to prepare for unexpected mental or physical disabilities for all students and staff.

I Think this might have gotten lost in the other comments, does anyone have any thoughts?

Yes, if you updated them, it would go into your file. I wouldn’t worry, especially since it was a month ago so more likely to be seen (and congratulations!)

i very impulsively uploaded a paper i wrote this year this morning to the portal and now i’m expierencing instant regret haha since it wasn’t “exceptional” and it’s a little late so I miht have just pissed off my admissions officer lol

hi, since we are so close to decision day, it is possible that even though a document can be uploaded into the portals, admissions officers probably won’t look at it if a decision has already been made.

however, it’s still worth a shot. congrats on being a semi-finalist, it may or may not be looked at but hopefully it does

thank you! I sent it back on nov. 13 so im hoping they saw it. I didnt have amazing honors other than being in 3 honors societies at my school, and getting a certificate of accomplishment through a course I took through Harvard Medical School so I am hoping it may have added some extra spice but im not sure! I feel like this whole thing is so random!

I doubt a few typos will cause a rejection.

Hope not! BUT…Been combing through my REA essays I plan to reuse and scouring them, fixing the typos, and getting prepped for sending out in the RD wave. Learn from the mistakes, ya know? I did get accepted to the Honors College at LSU, so my most baseline safety of all safety schools is a YES. Tell you what, psychologically it’s nice to have a check in the Yes column—you guys should submit to your state schools of choice, if you haven’t already.

Yes I applied to Stanford and I got rejected may be due to two things.
1). Asking Stanford for full financial aid but they are needed aware for international students
2). There are one or two typos in my essays and even during my proofreading I couldn’t see those devils.

Speaking of the essays, there are a lot of essays but you would love them as I did. They just talk about how you wanna express yourself to the admission committee and what you did in your life that is worthy to get admission into Stanford. Essays also are of having a personal opinion on something like biggest problem of society’s and all that. In my opinion it wasn’t hard to write essays because you don’t have to think over it as they would be by natural flow.
