NEITHER
You have to move BOTH applications to RD.
You already got an EA admissions answer from another private university so you can’t undo the EA app there.
So you have to move the other two.

But the Harvard portal says that now shifting isn’t possible. Oh my god I am stuck and gone … Lost all my chances due to my unnecessary medication
Guys what should I do now please reply ASAP … PLEASE
Email the AO via the Applicant Portal.
Done but today is Sunday here in India and in USA also probably so they will see my email on Monday only. Guys I am doomed.
Email AND call them tomorrow. Both schools. Make sure you don’t talk to a student.
Is it possible to withdraw applications on the portals? If so, do it.
Make sure you request to move to RD to BOTH H & Y.
When you said your Applicant Portal wouldn’t give you the option, can you describe that? What did you see exactly?
In Harvard’s I saw that the deadline has passed for that.
Removing my applications from consideration would allow me to apply for RD? Can’t call though
You are not withdrawing your application; you are asking to move to RD.
But let me level-set the expectations. An Indusn applicant to HY has a <2% chance. I hope you have some more realistic options.
I defer to more knowledgeable people such as @BKSquared @skieurope and but I feel like this is a big red flag for Y and H, to get rejected from Stanford and then try to switch out of their REA. It doesn’t mean you are doomed (statistics would say that you/each applicant won’t get in, anyway - with a 5% acceptance rate - but people are still surprised when they aren’t the exception so you need to reframe what “doomed” is.) I would lean towards withdrawing from Yale and Harvard (I would get others’ advice on this - Edited to add - see below, @bksquared advises against this), picking yourself up, and spending time on other school’s apps. There are SO many great schools out there and applying to targets, safeties, and reaches is what a smart applicant should do.
One other point is that it never fails to amaze me how kids are surprised when they get rejected from these elite schools. All of you are so smart and can look at the math and do a deep dive into previous CC results posts. Perfect stats often don’t get you in. Some strange mix of luck, stats, grades, essays, ECs, and how strong the coffee was in the AO break room that week, along with who they have already looked at/need. It’s so much easier to plan for rejection and be surprised on the day. My kid has an amazing CV and I’ve told her the same thing.
idek bc I am from Canada and logging into the portal right now at the bottom there is still a section called change your application program.
If switching to RD is allowed, go for it. If switching is not allowed, you could withdraw current REA applications and then reapply RD. I am no expert on this. @skieurope may know, or admissions folks.
I wouldn’t withdraw. Your chances then are 0 for sure. Just change your status through the portal if you can, or via email if that is not possible. Unless there is a box that requires you to explain why, I’d give no explanation. The AO’s are unlikely to think anything of it. It’s just another app to move to the RD pile.
It’s against the SCEA rules to apply to more than one private university in this round. You need to IMMEDIATELY change your app status to RD in 2 of the 3 schools. If you don’t, you’ll be rescinded, if you get in. These schools share their lists of accepted students which they check against their applicant lists and notify each other of double-dip (or triple-dip, in your case) applicants.
Click on it and you can get the answer!
Guys I am rejected from Stanford University and I have applications pending at Harvard University and Yale University. In my case would AOs also share my rejection at Stanford or just the acceptance?
I have applied to safety schools as well but that are in Regular Decision round.
Just change the application round ASAP
You have nothing to worry because you can’t be considered under this situation.
I can’t change now and that is the biggest problem here. The deadline has passed is the thing I am coming across!
