If your basic question is will they find out that you applied to multiple schools REA, the answer is yes. Don’t concern yourself with how. Concern yourself with fixing the mistake.
Now in my situation what should I do, should I withdraw my both applications or just one?
If you are asking because you are afraid the reject will adversely affect your RD chances at HY, the answer is no. No one has time to check the tens of thousands of rejects at other schools. If your question is if you might get caught later assuming you get accepted at either or both H or Y, the answer is probably yes. Now AO’s are just vetting through the 2,000± acceptances or the 1,200-1,500 entering class members to confirm test scores, transcripts, SM trail, etc…
Guys listen
Stanford REA rejected
Harvard REA can’t move to RD just can withdraw
Yale REA can do anything
Can I withdraw my application from REA and then apply to RD again?
Just give me an idea what should I do?
Either withdraw both and resubmit RD or email both and request your application be reclassified. If you keep either in REA, any potential acceptances will likely be rescinded.
Johnny. If Yale can do anything, move your application to RD asap, and not just tomorrow, do it now. For Harvard, withdraw your application. It’s better to do that at this point.
Just make sure you can apply RD if you withdraw your application. As I heard from friends you can not reapply if you withdraw your application and you have to wait next year to apply. I am not sure if this 100% true, but I would definitely check with someone who knows about this stuff. You might have to just call them and change your application from EA to RD soon as possible.
So anxious and afraid to see the outcome!
I feel so regret that I uploaded a very stupid and melodramatic additional statement to Harvard portal. I was talking about how my high school is a bad choice for me. What I was thinking ?!
You cannot withdraw your application from HY and resubmit RD. If you withdraw, you are done. You can move from REA to RD.
If the portal does not let you, admissions can override. Contact them.
Contacted the admissions and last hope is to withdraw my application.
I actually have another question concerning physical disabilities. I know chances are you guys can only make kind of general assumptions, but any opinions are appreciated. So having a physical disability definitely limits traveling experiences and things of that sort, but do you think admissions teams would be a bit more, I guess understanding would be the best word, of an applicant not having as many international/national recognitions due to limitations in traveling. I for one have a few different local and statewide awards, but it is a bit harder to do big, national competitions.
If they know your condition they would certainly look at your awards while considering your limitations of extra-curricular activities. As they all say they would evaluate you in your own cocoon.
Hey I’m an international applicant and have applied to Harvard REA. Are you sure Harvard notifies applicants a few days prior to decisions? The AOs confirmed that decisions would be released by 15-17th Dec, but nobody has received a notification yet.
They always have in the past. Nobody knows what they will do this year. But I highly doubt they will do a same-day notification.
Oh thanks a ton. Btw do you think decisions would be declared on the 15th or 17th, and why? (Sorry that it sounds like an essay prompt lol)
At this point it’s a total guessing game, but a good amount of people think it’s the 17th. (Don’t know exactly why but that’s what I’ve heard most)
Cool, thanks a lot.
Will Harvard likely to give me a deferment just based on that I didn’t get an interview?
I don’t think that is the case as according to me it’s subjected to availability of interviewer’s time etc…
Yes, my cousin’s friend was an alumni interviewer for Harvard, and the interview process is not selective, so it barely depends on the strength of your application. Harvard probably tries to give interviews to the maximum amount of students and sometimes not everyone gets to do one.
