I’m finding kids able to work remotely on, eg, phone banks. You’d need to ask your local reps how they can use you. Or related organizations out to get people to vote. Some cities/towns may be calling to ensure people know how they can vote. The idea, for kids who claim an interest in poli sci, policy or similar, is to dip a toe into the environment and process. Yes, harder with covid. But the need exists. And being involved can say a lot about drives.
Yes, thats a great idea i get what you mean. But with covid-19 ive gotten turned down. Is there a specific branch or institution number i could get to help. Also, if your program is still availble, id be more than happy to help. Tell me if you need my contact info. Thanks.
I am not hiring, I simply meant I am learning of kids who, despite covid, can volunteer remotely. You can make polling or info calls from wherever you are safe and comfortable. But you need to ask the folks who need this help. They can vet/train you by phone, email info, etc. I am not saying it’s easy to connect.
I’m RDing to Harvard because I know that my application will benefit from it during this time (the honors/awards are forthcoming). There are definitely opportunities within the political science secto, however - I’m applying as a prospective political science major myself. Nonetheless, I feel as if these really do depend on your previous involvements to an extent. Personally, I’ve found myself doing a lot of work with the United Nations in the current moment. The best advice that I have for you is to comb the internet for opportunities no matter how large or small. If you are passionate about something, search In that sector. You can also make your own opportunities (ie. submitting op-eds to newspapers, doing research on topics, etc.) At first, it may seem fruitless but I’m sure that you will find something. If anything, colleges do understand that your extracurriculars may have been impacted right now due to the pandemic - different cities have been affected differently too (in NYC students are competitive in terms of opportunities despite the high rate of cases).
Anyone know how to submit AP scores to Harvard?
I’m test optional for the SAT, but still want to send in some AP scores (filled it out on the common app testing section). It doesn’t show on the PDF and on the application portal there’s no “test scores received” checkmark.
How do I know if Harvard received my AP scores?
I had this problem, too. The scores don’t show up on the Common App, but when you submit it, Harvard still gets them. For me, after I submitted the application, the scores showed up in my admissions portal, so don’t worry about it (as long as you have all the tests in the testing section all right).
Hey man, I wanna get some info so can I talk to you at some other social media sites ?
I am applying REA to Harvard for the Fall 2021 and want to pursue Physics major.
Surely I also wanna know. I submitted on the very last date i.e. 1st Nov due to some internet issues, and I selected an interview for 15th Nov on Common App, but I haven’t received any email for the interview.
Just for background, I come from a country where there are limited interviews. When should I expect to get any email, if I am getting any interview whatsoever ?
Please don’t worry. It can take awhile to get an interview. Most people get them. If for some reason you don’t, due to your location or whatever, Harvard does not hold it against you.
Colleges are still trying to match up interviewers and interviewees from the same geographic area so there might be some commonality that can help ease the discussion. An interviewer from the Boston area asking an applicant from LA over Zoom to express an opinion on the winner of the Brady-Belichik split may be met with stunned silence which will, of course, lead to instant rejection.
Geography allows that the interviewer might have some familiarity with the high school and/or community that the student is coming from. One example I’ve seen cited is an interviewer knowing that a particular school had a public service requirement that meant all their students would have a lot of hours completed or knowing that another school provided negligible support to the application process. It also makes it easier to evaluate intellectual curiosity if you have some sense of what resources might (or might not) be available to a student.
Hello, If I want to submit an arts supplement, (musical) and I applied REA, is the deadline to submit via slideroom today?? Is there a deadline or a latest date I should get it in by??
That being said, I still have one recording to make, and some loaded in slideroom. Should I submit the loaded ones and then the second one later today so at least some are in early or can I only do one???
