Harvard Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Great/glad to read. Thank you!

Agree. A lot of highly qualified candidates also went out of their way to take the SATs this year - like people in my school (feeder school for Ivys) took the test in the fall of junior year but then again, these are the same people with perfect averages, nonprofits, team leadership roles, etc. I think that if you have better grades (4.0 or around there) the test won’t matter as much - they can calculate an academic index based on just that. However if your grades aren’t as great, a test can help “boost” your academic index (but, again, not by much - unless your test score is vastly different from your grade).

Congrats to all that were offered admission. Best wishes for those still looking for their perfect fit.

Congratulations! Will your son attend or does he have some RD schools he would like to apply to?

If you do not mind, can you please tell us how to earn 4.02 unweighted GPA? Thanks.

At his school, the scale is - A+ is a 4.3, an A is 4.0, A- is 3.7, etc…

He has not yet decided.

and Thanks!

Wow, I wish my school could have the kind of system… so his 4.3 will equivalent to 4.0 in our school.

When AOs recalculate GPA in core courses they do so (generally) without the plusses and minuses.

Hey, I am an international student from Poland and got deferred from Harvard EA.
From what I have heard, I assume that sending new Letters of Recommendation and LOCI is generally not advised. However, I participated in the December SAT Subject Tests and scored 800 in Math Lvl 2 and 790 in Chemistry. Should I send those instead or just leave the application as it is?
To give you more bachground, here is some information about me:
SAT: 1530
IB Predicted Grade: 42/45
12 MUNs (a huge thing in central Europe), I am also organising one
Two summer internships (both associated with my concetration, thus finance, one in a company in London)
3 letters of recommendation from Math, English and Economics teachers, 1 LOR from an employer (from the British company), 1 LOR from a Harvard alumnus.
A lot of ECs
Furthermore, what could I do in order to maximise my chances of getting in during RD?
I’d be grateful for any help!

Definitely update with your new scores. Send a LOCI in January - finish RD apps first. Do not send any more LoRs

Cheers, that’s the info I have been looking for!

Hi I only have submitted SAT 1580, but did not submit ACT:35, does it make a difference to send if you are deferred since is two different tests or should I put ACT self report into the portal. Took ACT back in Sept or do not send ACT at all.

1580 is better than 35. No need to send both
