Harvard Crimson inadvertently publishes Holocaust denial ad

This is one of those "Woops" moments. BIG WOOPS.

From the front page of CNN.com: Harvard Crimson says Holocaust denial ad published by accident - CNN.com

From "The Crimson":

Between Dr. Gates and this, Harvard is really on a role this year!

How do you "accidentally"publish an ad? Don’t you have to insert it into place?

It’s Harvard- expect the unexpected, I suppose.

Fodder for the Hasty Pudding Award, perhaps

It’s no accident when a newspaper publishes an ad. Some editor has to sign off on that before the ad is inserted.

Having been a school newspaper editor for several years, it’s near impossible to put something in there that you don’t intend to, as mentioned above. That’s just sickening.

I too wonder how such a mistake happens. The response seems well-handled, though.

For something to be “canceled” it had to be accepted in the first place. I am not buying this “accident” excuse.
