34 counting 11/06?

actually 11/7

I thought admissions were e-mailed 12/15 at 5:00 EST. Is it actually earlier than that?

im just going by what i see

why would you say 11/7?

well now i feel bad about my AI =)

It's all such a lottery, isn't it?
Part merit, part destiny, part random subjectivity and political correctness.

I'm so happy to have this support group here even though we're more like competitors.

Yeah, we are like competitors, but the fact is we are not competitors by one golden standard. We don't really know who or what will accept us into the class. There are so many hidden factors like the people they need, the geographic diversity, the racial diversity, and extracurricular activities that need a boost on campus... I mean, there are just so many, and it changes year after year.

It is a lottery. It's not all merit, as you could tell in that thread someone posted about EA acceptances last year.

Can my hook be a meathook, like the one from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre? I think that's the best kind of hook one could have.

lol .... or a fish-hook?!

I geuss I'm number 8. I have never posted befoer, but i figured i should register in time to share the horrible stories of my deferral that is to come.

Economics
I'm confused by the AI thing, but I am 1/410, 800M, 670V, 800IIC, 770WR, 750 Physics. I think that is like a 330 or a 332 or something like that. My hook, if it is even a hook: State Math Champion and 4 Sport Varsity Athlete (Not Recruited though)

I geuss, if this is invictus' support group, the first step to healing is admitting your problem:

Hello, my name is Cardinalsfan, and I am addicted to Harvard.
Welcome to Harvard Anonymous (HA).

On a different note, there are 28 of us (as of now), most of us are better than the typical applicant. I am going to geuss at least ten of us get in ( or maybe I am Crazy). Any one else have a geuss.

That was meant to read "I'm number 28"

sorry.

Four sports! I'm impressed.

Considering that AI is out of 240, that 330-332 is pretty impressive! :D

bioengineering/235

Okay, i had a lot of typos. 230-232, you all knew that, but thank you for pointing it out. And I am a four sport Varsity Athlete: Freshman Year I was a Varsity wrestler, but i dislocated my kneecap during soccer season, and am not allowed to wrestle, so now i am on the swimteam.

And a general question to anyone who has a AI over 235: Did you guys spend a lot of time studying for the SAT's or did you know all the stuff from school, or what?

Question on the AI: Do schools actually use it? I've read about it at Dartmouth, but how important is it to other schools? I'm one point away from a 9; will be at the end of this semester. There's a calculator on this site somewhere. The way the book, right, A is for Admission, talks about the AI, if you've got an 8 or 9, you've got about an 80% chance of getting in. I seriously doubt that's true.

Justice, please do not quote Henry David Thoreau considering they teach english at Andover like Robert Southey--Have you even read Walden?

of course i've read it

although i missed the robert southey allusion

where do you go?

i think the AI is not that important once you get into the 8/9 range, but i would predict a strong positive correlation

Interesting. See, the funny thing about the A is for Admission is that it makes you appear if you've got 750+ across the board, you're in. We all know this isn't true. Does anyone know actually rejection stats for 1500+ scores?

i don't know and i'm not sure knowing would help that much. i do know that stanford has a similar statistic and it shows very good correlation. it's like if you have an 770+ verbal or something you have a 24% chance just with that.

Days till Dec. 10, 2004 EA decisions: 33.
