<p>Hi all!</p>

<p>I'm a sophomore at a highly competitive school in New Jersey. I took the SAT II Math IC and IIC in middle school, and got a 770 and an 800 on them, respectively. I also took the
SAT I test in the 8th grade an got a 2200. Freshman year, I had one of the heaviest course-loads in my grade, taking Honors Precalculus, Honors Biology, and Honors Chemistry, while taking Honors wherever I could. However, I got a B in honors chemistry freshman year, ending the year with a miserably, with a 3.83 UW/ 4.5ish W. Being a glutton for punishment, I skipped AP Calculus BC over the summer, taking Honors Multivariable Calculus sophomore year, as well as AP Biology, Honors Physics, and a bunch of other Honors classes. I got all A's sophomore year.
I am a tournament-level chess player, with a USCF rating of about 1520. I have been playing chess all my life. I received a gold medal at the NJ Science Olympiad state tournament. I was also part of the team that placed 1st there. I am an avid participant in my science and math clubs, having done well in Mandelbrot, AMC and PUMAC (Princeton University Math Competition). Is there anything at all that can be done? I project my GPA will be at around a 3.95 by the end of senior year. My weighted GPA will be much higher, though not outstanding. </p>

<p>You’re on the right track, and an outstanding one at that. Keep up the good work, take more APs junior year (self-study some too! I regret not doing that) and get some leadership positions - show them that there’s more to you than just brains.</p>

<p>And even if you don’t get into Harvard, I guarantee there are other great schools that will take you.</p>

<p>wow those are amazing scores for a middle schooler! For anyone, really, and as long as you’re still in the top 10% of your class, your gpa shouldn’t hurt you. you’re also showing great passion for math and science. just write great essays and you should have a great chance!</p>

<p>hi bug! fairfax math circle is bring some teams again this year…love mandelbrot and pumac!!!pumac is so much fun and the kids enjoy seeing their friends from summer math camps and other competitions! see you there and good luck…what team are you on…we’ll cheer you on!</p>
