Harvard Engineering Graduate program

Hello,

I am currently a junior at Penn State studying Chemical Engineering and i am interested in going to graduate school. I know Harvard is not very well known for its engineering program but I heard they are currently expanding and offers a really good ratio between professor and students (5 to 1).

I am not a bright student either, with my stats below, should I even bother to apply? Any other ‘realistic’ school suggestion?

GPA: 3.8/4.00
A semester research experience (will continue til graduation), 1 strong rec letter
2 internships
Not taken GRE yet.

Why would you want to go to Harvard for its developing engineering program when there are others that are more established? Also, are you talking about MS or PhD?

I think you need to sit down and think about the research you want to do, and then choose a list of schools based on that. Faculty to student ratio is largely irrelevant in graduate school as well. You will find that grad students generally have a lot more direct contact with professors regardless of the program size.
