I know Harvard doesn't accept transfers, but does it make exceptions for students of the university who want to transfer between colleges?

Harvard does accept (a very small number of) transfers now.

There is certainly no preference given to HES students – in fact, I could imagine the transfer being more difficult, as the intended demographic of HES (non-traditional students) is very different from the intended demographic of the college.

I can’t speak for the admissions office, but everyone I knew at the college found the phenomenon of people going to HES for traditional undergrad (and seeing it as the “next best thing” after going the college) as rather disturbing + misguided.

There are some HES students/alumni who post here regularly and will likely have more info than I do…

and how, pray tell, did you find a baccalaureate program ‘disturbing and misguided?’

I don’t find HES or its programs “disturbing and misguided.”

I find 19 year olds who go to HES full time and think they are going to get into the college, or think they are getting an experience that’s just like going to the college are somewhat “disturbed and misguided.” I think the vast majority of these traditional students would be better served by taking part in a traditional college/university experience.

HES is certainly a great option for many people - distance/part-time learning, post-bacc med program, etc.
