Harvard Interview Attire

Just got a letter in the mail today from my interviewer. We're going to meet somewhere like a Starbucks or Barnes and Noble. What would be proper attire for a girl to wear to the interview? I don't want to be too dressy or too casual.

You should dress appropriately for the place. If you’re meeting in a Starbucks or a Barnes & Noble, business casual is the way to go:<a href=“What Business Casual Really Means”>What Business Casual Really Means;

A daytime skirt or dress is fine, or nice pants with a cardigan and blouse. Darker, dressier jeans with a nice top or sweater is also fine. Flat or low-heeled shoes or boots are better than very high heels. You should be more dressed up than what you usually wear to school everyday, but less dressed up than for a party. My daughter usually wore a darker colored dress with tights and flats to her interviews. Guys do not have to wear a suit or sport jacket. My son wore corduroy or khaki pants with a v-neck sweater and a buttoned-down shirt. A tie is optional. If the meeting is at a professional office, you can get a little more “dressed up,” but at a Starbucks or a similar location, a little more casual is fine.
