Harvard interview question

Ok so recently I applied to Harvard, but I doubt I will even be accepted. I have around a 3.8 unweighted GPA and some (what I like to call impressive) EC’s. I really only applied to see if I would get lucky and be accepted. However, even if they did accept me (1% chance) I would probably not go since other students more capable than I am will surround me and probably make me feel dumn haha. Ok, so the my question. Is the Harvard interview mandatory? I really dont want to do it since I’m not very serious with going to Harvard in the first place. I read on Harvard’s website that if an interview cannot be arranged, it will have no impact on the acceptance process itself. Is this true? Or do i actually have to go to the interview?

When and if contacted, simply decline. Or save everyone the trouble and simply contact H to inform them you’re withdrawing your app.

If an interview cannot be arranged, it will have no impact on your acceptance. However, declining an interview is the fastest way to the reject pile. It’s huge red flag in the admissions process. As T26E4 said, you might as well contact H and withdraw your application.

It’s “dumb” not “dumn” right? Always better not to use phone!!

If you have an interest you should not turn down the interview. If you don’t intend to enroll at Harvard then an interview would be a waste of your time as well as the interviewer’s time.
