Harvard language proficiency question

Should you only fill out the Harvard supplement question about if you know how to speak, write, or read a language other than English only if you are fluent? I have taken 4 years of high school Spanish but I am far from fluent; should I add that in? Thanks in advance.

I think so. I mean, if you can hold a coherent conversation with a native speaker, why not? I’m doing that for the languages I’m learning.

of course you should mention your spanish. If this question was directed onlyto those fluent, then only a few people would qualify and there is not much merit in speaking your native language if it is not english
