I think everyone needs valium and nitrous oxide.

yeah. everyone needs something to chill down...

I hope everyone on here gets in! Good luck everyone! do we have a chatroom for the harvard hopefuls? like MIT did?

i think most people on this board need more than valium and nitrous. i mean, college is great, but it almost seems pointless to stress about getting into harvard... i mean, it's harvard. almost no one gets in.

it'll just be a wonderful suprise if you do.

good luck.

The MIT room was for admittees, but we got lots of other people, too.

when do you guys know?

harvard knows on 5pm 3/31... if you meant MIT, the RD letters have already been received.

wow, even though there are such high numbers of applicants, consider the applicants that are disqualified for the following reasons: low grades, lack of interest, make to apply by parents, etc...

once you factor that in I think the chances become much higher

Low grades do not mean automatic disqualification.

I meant a 1.9 gpa with 800 sat, and not an athlete urm etc... of course low grades dont automatically disqualify u but at a certain point it is no longer competitive

Very, very few of these people apply to Harvard. There are people who apply "just for kicks", but you're not really competing against them. You're competing against the several thousand who are hard-core about admissions, and when you think about it like that, the chances become much lower. Not to be a pessimist or anything...but it's the truth.

truth often hurts

but that "just for kicks" applicant does inflate the numbers who apply, any little consolation is helpful at this point

btw, how do you put a quote in a box

[ quote ]whatever you want to quote goes here[ /quote ]

(take out the spaces)

lol, it took me like two months to learn that. check out the site below for more useful pointers:

I think the sheer caliber of applicants on this website shows how competitive the admissions process remains.

that was helpful :D :D :D

CC always have a really high admit rate. Its full of over-achieving kids who worked their whole lives for college.

Sad but true, sad but true...
Wait that isn't sad, maybe we are sad people for our over achieving qualities, but being accepted at a higher rate is a good thing.

Yes, espescially if that means I get in :D :D :D

i haven't been contacted about missing business/farm supplement... gaaahhhh

i wasnt contacted about the idoc.....i guess we all know what that means........R!
