Harvard Makes Final Decisions!!!

Hey Guys,

Just Wanted you all to know that Harvard finishes up all its decisions tommorow (3/21/2005). I'm sick of waiting and worrying although, I've ridden my chances off as an inevitable rejection!

The 21st is today honey. Don't worry, your app has probably already been decided on and there is no need to worry now. :)

oh well, whatever happens I wish you all luck
I give myself a 1/10 chance of getting accepted

i gave mself 1.2/10 chance of being accepted :)

where did you hear about that, lifehurts? just wondering (in case it's similar to others schools of the same caliber and size)

I give myself 1/1000 chance... lol "So you're saying I still have a chance!!" haha

what do they do for the next 10 days?

they dance gleefully while pointing and laughing at us.... damn the ivy league agreement on release dates

Last minute changes, developments. You win Intel or something -- which was actually just announced a few days ago. You murder someone. Which actually happened in the case of that girl who murdered her mom or something like that and was rescinded.

and she was already taking classes....

Harvard just requested some financial aid info from me--good sign?

WHAT... how could a girl be taking classes at harvard, not yet be a student and have her admissions revoked?

Possibly. H requested finaid info from my daughter at the last minute last year, and I wondered the same thing. She was accepted a week or so later. It means something is missing from your file.

Don't get your hopes up TOO high though. For any given school, it could be that left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The finaid office may not know what the adcoms have decided.

i was asked for financial aid material around 2 weeks ago.. but a few ppl in my region also got the same email. so that led me to question if it really is a good sign or something they send to everyone

The girl was accepted and of course, she enrolled. However, when someone reported that she had murdered her mom prior to even applying to Harvard, the admissions office looked through her file and found that she failed to mention the little detail. She was promptly asked to leave the grounds.

Rumor has it she's living in Ted Kaczynski's old shack.

I read about it in "The Truth about Harvard" . . . I think. Maybe it was "Ace the College App" (section on lying and "embellishing") Or maybe it was the internet . . . I'm not entirely sure . . . can someone backup/verify my story? lol

". Which actually happened in the case of that girl who murdered her mom or something like that and was rescinded."

She was rescinded because she had lied on her application by, I think, failing to mention that she had been charged with a felony. Apparently, she had been abused by her mom, and the murder happened in connection with that. Her sentence was confinement to a mental institution, and she was released after treatment.

Tufts eventually accepted her, put her in a single room her second year. From what I read in follow-up stories, her classmates found her to be quiet and nice. My guess is that if she had provided accurate info in her Harvard application, Harvard might have accepted her and made similar arrangements for her rooming as Tufts had.

If you use a search engine, you can find some of the stories about her.

yeah i got some crap about financial aid as well.... but then.. i got one from MIT (which I was accepted to)... hmmmmmm

hey Princeton, maybe as we are accepted, they are sending us financial aid information.... since you got yours 2 weeks ago, and I got mine today.. and my last name starts with a W.... = O

The girl in question was Gina Grant.

i give myself a 50/50 chance
either i get in or i dont. jajajaj
