Harvard - NEC joint program

Hey, has anyone applied to the new joint program between NEC and Harvard? How are your SAT scores and how did your auditions go? thanx

ok, I'm relieved now. Maybe not too many people have applied to this program! :)

I hear it's extremely competitive. Don't they take only 6 or 7 people per year?

yeah... I wonder how they choose those people; based on stats or essays or talent? Which one is more important? I have also heard that even if you apply to both and get into both, they might reject you for the double degree program. Now that is tough.
btw, did you apply to it?

I applied. My SAT I score was 1510 and my SAT II's were 760, 760, 670.

I felt my audition went well. My practice time with the accompanist got cut really short because they were running behind, but other than that everything went smoothly. I went in, they introduced the faculty, and had me sing my first piece. After that they decided which of my other songs they wanted, but the one that they picked was pretty long so they argued for a while about which part they wanted to hear, couldn't decide, and eventually chose to just have me start at the beginning. It was really difficult to tell what they thought, really. They said "thank you, good job," and so on and so forth but I don't know whether they say that to everybody or what. The receptionist (Also a concert pianist) told me later that she had come upstairs for some reason or other while my audition was happening and had stopped to listen to it, and told me that she thought I'd done a good job. I'm hoping that's a good sign, but she was really nice in general and again she might have said that to everybody. In conclusion, I'm hopeful but I really have no clue!

Yeah, this is the first year that they have this program and they're only accepting 5-6 people. The reason that even if you get into both you might not get in is because they are letting current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors at Harvard apply for the program too. As soon as all acceptances and rejections are sent out, they are going to have a second round of auditions and reviews and that's how they're going to determine who gets to be a part of the joint program.

Great job! What's your other major? I hope everything goes well for u. My audition went very good. In fact the teacher I had written down on the list came out to congratulate me. However I am SO worried that Harvard won't accept me. I am international and my SAT verbal is low. So I don't think there is any chance for me, especially if they're taking 4-6 students.
I wonder how they pick those people. Could they, for example, accept only strings to the program?
Also, what do u mean by "second round of auditions"? There will be auditions again?
