I've never been to spee...I heard it was pretty sketchy compared to the others...they had a cool event at PfoHo a while back.

I guess this isn't really related to the original question...

In my opinion (though I don't know much)...there is a balanced variety of kids at Harvard...but it doesnt matter whether they are cool or nerdy... they all pretty much have one thing in common: the drive to succeed.....unless you were "forced" to go to harvard :p

I don't view nerdiness as occupying the opposite end of a spectrum from being a party animal. I'm a very sociable, extroverted nerd. To me, nerdiness is about enthusiasm for exploring the world and all its nooks and crannies, irrespective of whether the nooks and crannies are considered cool. The opposite of a party animal is a recluse. The opposite of a nerd is an airhead with no curiosity. So if you ask me, almost everyone at Harvard is a nerd, even the social butterflies.

To Hanna - Well said (written). I've never liked the negative connotations of the word nerd.

When I visited Harvard, I found people were very easy to talk to, friendly and definitely not awkward. It made me happy :)...But maybe it's just me.
