Harvard optional essay

I've had some varying opinions about my optional essay for Harvard. Two of its readers (student and Humanities teacher) have said that it was fantastic, and another two (College Counselors) have said that they are not sure what an admissions Counselor can learn about my by reading it. It's rather lengthy, 4 pages, so it should be well worth it if I'm going to submit it, and not a waste of Admissions Officers' time. I'm looking for two other opinions, preferably from alums or current Harvard students. If anyone would be willing to give it a read, please PM me and I'll send it over.

Thanks!

4 pages??? Without even reading the essay, I’m in agreement with your GC. Less is more!

er. i relooked over mine. it was actually 900 words :frowning: retrospectively should have cut it back

4 pages is not appropriate unless it’s totally captivating, and it sounds like your counselors told you it’s not!
