There are schools generally considered stronger for engineering and/or CS. Is your goal to work in engineering and/or CS, or go into finance or consulting like a large percentage of super-selective school graduates regardless of major?

If you like them, apply to both; if you somehow get into both, then you can decide. Meanwhile, make sure that you have safety schools that you know you will be admitted to and know that you can afford.

I was going to say: in a lot of cases, students find that Columbia or Harvard (or both) will make that decision for them.

If you hate snow and cold weather, why pick these two schools?

This feels a little trollish to me.

i dont want to move too far away
