Harvard Summer School

I already posted my question in the Harvard section of CC, but got one short reply only, so I'll try again here. I'm an international student - I studied in Britain and the Netherlands - and have undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Classics. I'm currently enrolled in an MPhil programme and enjoy my research very much.

I would love to go to Harvard Summer School this year and register for graduate credit. However, since the SSP runs at the same time and high school students enroll in the same courses, I am concered about the level of the courses and also worried that I will be the only mature student (23) in a class full of young teens. Since I am unfamiliar with the US system, I do not know what to expect. I would love to hear about anyone's experiences with the summer school - including high school students - and especially any details about the literature / humanities courses.

I'm already in the programme and university of my choice, so I do not need the summer school to look good on my application. However, I do hope to be challenged and enjoy a wonderful summer overseas. :)

shameless bumping

My son went (as a high schooler) and the prof told them that the class was exactly the same as she taught it during the year. His was a smaller class and there were only 2 or 3 high schoolers in the class the rest were all older students. He really enjoyed it.

That's encouraging! Do you remember what class that was (or the academic field)?
