<p>Harvard's engineering is much smaller than MIT's (currently about 100 students) but they are planning on adding 100 professors in the next ten years or so. Harvard has plenty of money to hire the best. I'd say Harvard is the right place to go if you are well rounded, will take advantage of the other things Harvard has to offer (great ECs, students with a wide variety of interests), like the House residential system, and think there's a possibility you won't end up in engineering. My son is a comfirmed computer science nerd and ultimately turned down Harvard for a bigger department in a more techie school.
