I know both schools are amazing and both will be great, which is making the decision super difficult.

Pros/cons of academics, social life, opportunities, programs, etc..?
Just any input really, lol

Go to the admitted students days of both schools and see where you feel is the best fit. My son had a similar decision a couple of years ago: Harvard, Williams & Swarthmore. He found the visits extremely helpful in making his decision. Talking to students, staying in a dorm, using coed bathrooms, meeting with professors, playing ultimate Frisbee, and just walking around and getting a feel for the general atmosphere gave him a whole new understanding of the schools. It was still a very hard decision. Congratulations on the great opportunities before you!!

Thank you for your reply! Which did your son choose? I am attending the overnight open houses, but I also wanted more opinions from students/people I won’t meet at the open house.

My eldest son ended up at Swarthmore which was his third choice before the accepted students visits. He is happy with his decision. His professors know him well and have given him amazing opportunities, he’s also involved in lots of extracurricular activities. The education has been fantastic, but he does find it important to get off campus and out of “the bubble” at times.

His younger brother will attend Harvard this fall and he totally supports that decision. He thinks Harvard will be a good match for his brother. I remember reading some different threads about Williams or Amherst vs Harvard on CC that were helpful. Good luck gathering information. What a great decision to have to make!

Thank you, I’m super excited for the overnight open house! I think that will be the only thing that really helps me decide. I’ll look at some other threads, too though!
