Harvard vs Stanford

So I have been admitted to both and I have really no idea which to choose.

I'm also undecided on my major but I think I want to either major in Political Science(government at Harvard) or Engineering(Undecided on which discipline). Thinking separately each major which one would be better.

They are both about the same cost. Tell me which one you would choose for each major.

Im from the east coast so Harvard all the way

An engineering grad from Stanford looks more promising than a polsci grad from Harvard, in my opinion. I’d choose Stanford, if i were you.

Stanford has stronger engineering programs and better weather. Harvard might be a little stronger for PS/Government (but both are strong in this and most other arts & science fields). Harvard has smaller average class sizes. Cambridge is a more desirable college town than Palo Alto. However, there would be plenty to do at either school even if you never left campus.

Hard choice. Can you attend admitted student events at both?

The admitted Student events overlap by a day, However, I’m going to try to make it work by skipping a day at each.

My nephew was admitted to both and he chose Harvard as a polical science major. He loved both schools but grew up 50 miles from Harvard and was pretty much an east coast kid through and through. This is mainly why he chose Harvard over Stanford which in spite of its stellar academic reputation has a very laid back west coast kind of vibe. It is very spread out, on a huge piece of land with beautiful weather most of the year and just has a totally different feel than Harvard. I hope you visit Stanford. It is an incredible school. My oldest daughter was lucky enough to go there and she still thanks her lucky stars she was given the opportunity:) So huge congrats to you for your acceptance to both!!! Fantastic! Like someone else said you can’t go wrong with either one:)

Oh and you need to go to University Street in Palo Alto (right across Camino Real Ave from Stanford) while you are visiting Stanford and check out the student scene there!
