Harvard vs. Yale vs. Princeton vs. Stanford

In my opinion, you should definitely attend Princeton. I remain unbiased as I don’t attend any of these schools, but with your interest in political science, the Woodrow Wilson school definitely helps the most. Princeton also has one of the most competitive academic environment. If you’re unwilling to work hard, then Princeton is not for you. The campus is absolutely amazing. I personally find it better than HYSs’, though I can’t really comment on Harvard’s since I’ve never visited. In terms of the location, Princeton is widely considered to be “Pleasantville”, and if you’re looking for more of a school for pre-professionals, then HYS might be better, but for people like me who just wants to learn in ugrad and start prepping for the real world in grad school, Princeton would be the best choice. As for your interests in debate, the Whig-Clio organization that somebody has previously posted about will have everything you’re looking for. Princeton’s social life pretty much revolves around eating clubs. I actually think Yale’s Residential Colleges system could be a better choice, but I don’t actually know much about Princeton’s eating clubs and can’t comment on them, meaning they could even be better than Yale’s RCs.

She can study IR in the POL department, it just won’t be as policy-oriented as WWS. So no, it is not inferior. It is truly just different. She also has the option of getting a WWS certificate if she chooses to minor in an acceptable field (there are strict WWS certificate rules), taking WWS classes, etc. And you made a general statement that we both know you didn’t mean to be restricted to IR.

If you get good grades, take relevant classes, and get involved EC-wise, you’ll be fine. A lot of people do shoot off apps for the sake of it.

so which one did you end up choosing?
