Which one is the best and why? I want academics plus social life. I also expect a high rate of accepted application at top medical schools in the USA.

If you post this on a Yale forum, you better be ready for some really biased opinions. :P

Harvard . Whats better than number one ?

well i posted it on harvard
s princeton
s and yale`s forum.
Also could you detail your opinion

Which one is best? Best at what?
I’m not going to go off on a tangent on why I applied. I do, however, suggest that you look into Yale yourself and see if something sets it apart from the rest in your own mind. Each person has a personal reason as to why they like Yale, or Harvard, or Princeton above the rest. Find your own. :)

That’s my suggestion.

well a few weeks ago i was harvard oriented because of the academics
but now i received yale`s view book and i am not so sure
also does yale, harvard and princeton offer intl need based financial aid

^^ YOU need to do your own research…and consider what makes you , you…

If your stats are what you say in your chance threads–then you know how to navigate a web site and contact the financial aid offices to ask about aid to internationals… so be proactive… ;o)

The three schools are really different…as are CalTech and MIT…did you apply to them all??

Consider what you are looking for beyond a brand… and why you want and American univeristy experience instead of another part of the world

^
What’s that supposed to mean?

yes…right now the main thing is to get accepted into one of those to go away from home i am sick of it

If you dont get accepted into any are you going to reapply?

a bright poster can find the answers about fin aid on the webs sites of the schools –
why ask here at CC? usually laziness.
why ask someone else to do your homework for you…thats what I mean…

and some kids seem to apply only to schools with a recognized brand name-- without repect to which schools are best for which programs…The OP isn’at asking about comparing a particular program/academic discipline.

There are thousands of schools–
HYP, MIT, Caltech etc are all so very very different…local, ethos/campus culture…
Even if there are similiarities on paper–it would be a shame for the OP to pick a school by brand name rather than what really ignites a passion/pursuit of a career…a campus visit would help streamline the list.

The OPs other posts seem to indicate a lack of focus beyond the above sentiment of wanting to leave where he/she is …instead of where he/she wants to go…
A GC or parent could perhaps help the OP consider “fit” beyond brand name…

Good luck OP

Why don’t you apply to them first and see if you actually get in to all three before you assume that you’ll be faced with the choice of H, Y, or P…

Not to be mean but I think OP is ■■■■■■■■… Someone plz close this thread.

lol @ this thread.

Newsflash: any Ivy League school will get you into med school!

Newsflash: being a hardworking student at any half-decent college will get you into med school!

Newsflash: pick Yale! As someone who just spent the weekend at Harvard and whose girlfriend goes to Princeton, I can *objectively/I say that Yale is better.

I can tell my girlfriend isn’t as happy with Princeton as I am with Yale, 'cause honestly the social system at Princeton with its eating clubs and exclusivity is just something I can see being stressful and detracting from the fun of college life. And I was walking around in Harvard Yard this weekend when one of my friends said something to the effect of “why does Harvard have to suck so badly,” when a Harvard student who was passing by was like “I know… I’m really sorry. I had such a good time when the Game was held at Yale last year. It’s just… different here… It really sucks…” and then we proceeded to talk about how the people at Yale are more attractive. And happy: [The Cult of Yale | The Harvard Crimson](The Harvard Crimson)

YALE IS AWESOME.

Another overblown, secondhand opinion of the eating club system. Gee, haven’t seen one of these on CC for a while.

On the other hand, I can unbiasedly say that this is exactly what Yale is like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYRF5-zdY8Q

That video was pretty funny

Neither. Its at Stanford and MIT.

My opinion is based on (1) my personal experiences at Princeton, as someone who has visited numerous times and (2) the opinions of my friends who go to Princeton. No, I definitely don’t have the full picture, as someone who isn’t a student. I’m just stating my personal feelings and those of the people I know who go to Princeton. Take that for what it is.

Yup. That’s exactly what Yale is like. I’d stay away if I were you. ;)

“a bright poster can find the answers about fin aid on the webs sites of the schools –

You may consider that I am lazy, but I am asking here because I am not very familiar with the US Educational System.

“why ask someone else to do your homework for you…thats what I mean…”

I am not asking anyone to do my homework, I am asking only for advice because I cannot visit them (the universities) myself.

“and some kids seem to apply only to schools with a recognized brand name-- without repect to which schools are best for which programs…The OP isn’at asking about comparing a particular program/academic discipline.”

Probably they do this because they want also a better recognition of their studies. But that is not my case. I am also applying to other universities, not just those mentioned here. As I said before my purpose is getting into a prestigious Med School, probably Harvard.

“The OPs other posts seem to indicate a lack of focus beyond the above sentiment of wanting to leave where he/she is …instead of where he/she wants to go…

My reasons for leaving home are not for you to discuss. Also your statement about gcs and parents are inappropiat in this case because every GC I know also knows my parents and WILL tell them everything I talked with them. And my reasons for leaving are higly related to the behaviour of my parents.

@rockermcr

I wouldn
t know any of those Newsflash because I don
t live in the US and I wouldn`t hasve the chance of knowing those.

Rayvan, academically, Harvard, Princeton and Yale are equal. Medical schools will not differentiate between those three schools. I would not worry about comparing the schools for now as virtually nobody gets into more than two of those three schools. If you insist on going to one of those three schools, your decision will most likely be made for you.
