Harvey Mudd College vs. Yale

I committed to Harvey Mudd. I've certainly fallen in love with it, in most respects. Yesterday, I was accepted off of the Yale waitlist unexpectedly.

Basically, I guess I'd like to hear opinions of students who've faced similar type decisions I guess. Just trying to throw some rationale around in my head. Actually any opinions of people familiar with the schools works too.

Thanks

[Prospective Engineering Major]

If your intended major is engineering and you’re very interested with the program and you really like to become an engineer and work as an engineer, then Mudd would offer you that better than Yale would.

I’m surprised, however, that you did find Mudd likable. I thought it was a boring place full of boring people. But this was only the impression I got when I visited Mudd many years ago already. Perhaps things may have changed now at Mudd.

I can certainly see where you are coming from. I think many things have changed rapidly at Mudd, and from my personal experience I thought the social culture was enough for me, especially with the connections to the other undergrad campuses.

I appreciate the input.

Thanks

Where would you rather live?

California. Easy.

I’m not 100% sure of this, but the only advantage I see in going to Yale is that not everyone there is an engineering major, and thus less competition in the job market

How sure are you that you will stay an engineering major?
If there are other majors that interest you, how do the two schools compare in the those fields?
