I have applied and still on Ready for desicison, and I’m just worried that by the time I hear back my other universities deadline is gonna come. What should I do?
I assume CPP is your first choice, correct? When is the deadline for your second choice? If I were in your position, I would hold out as long as possible before paying the deposit for my second choice. If I didn’t hear anything from CPP a few days prior to the deadline for school #2, I would go ahead and secure my spot there. You can always forfeit your deposit and go to CPP if you later find out you are accepted. Not securing a spot to a college you were accepted to in hope of getting into another one puts you in bad position. Don’t do that to yourself.
Hopefully CPP roles out admissions this next week for whoever else is waiting. I imagine they will. No guarantees, but I would be surprised if you didn’t hear something by the third week of April.
Thank you
I got accepted to CPP for Aerospace Engineering but it’s not my first choice. I’m committing to SDSU unless UCI takes me off the wait list and into their school. I think you have a good chance of getting accepted to CPP because there are many who have CPP as their backup school and many people don’t actually want to go to CPP because of the boring area. Now i’ll talk about the wait listing process. I am in a similar position as you are. I really want to attend UCI but sometimes life doesn’t work that way. So i visited other campuses and fell in love with SDSU. If you really want to attend CPP then it looks like you are going to have to be patient just like me and find another college you can commit until decisions come out. Usually if you are on a wait list you would want to commit to another school and would have to lose the payment you made in the beginning if you get accepted off the wait list to CPP. I committed to SDSU and if UCI brings me off the wait list i will decline my admission to SDSU and lose the $300 fee in the beginning and commit to UCI. Thats how the process works. I think you will be accepted to CPP keep me posted and good luck!
The amount of people who decide not to go to CPP because it is in a “boring area” is insignificant compared to the amount of people who will commit to the school’s highly reputable engineering program. CPP has one of the best ROI in California, beating every UC with the exception of UCSD and Berkeley (according to payscale.com). CPP also has an extensive track record for its success in both national and international competitions. The point is that CPP is a gem and most prospective students know this. Location will hardly deter them. If anything, it should entice them. It is centrally located with endless employers within proximity. So, telling someone that they have a good chance of gaining acceptance from the waitlist based on an opinion can be misleading. It is just not that simple.
I got waitlisted how about u?
