Has anyone gotten into Calarts for a BFA in theatre?

I was accepted to CalArts yesterday! BFA Acting Class of 2015!

Outstanding - Oldviola, alixloves and Bonkers B - wish the best to you Bozozo04! Hoping that yeah or nay letter comes soon to DC

It was my Dā€™s favorite so we have been very interested in that replyā€¦

Congrats BonkersB, alixloves, and oldviola! I will be seeing you all very soon : ) Weā€™ll keep our fingers crossed Bozozo04. I live about 10 minutes from the school so I got mine pretty early.

Bless your heart Bergersjrā€¦very kindā€¦we shall seeā€¦

4 have gotten in from those that post regularly on College Confidential. 32 spots left!!

I am dying with anxiety but sure that if everyone who got in had the interview, exercise, card receiving experience, then I didnā€™t get in.

Hereā€™s to wishful thinking.

The only school I applied to and the only school worthwhile (for me). Next year iā€™ll plan for more.

I got an email last week informing me that my transcripts were lost. I faxed an unofficial copy and mailed in an official. I had the same audition processā€“they asked me to do exercises and interviewed me.

Did they use my unofficial transcript fax? And do they really take previous grades into account-really?

Congrats to you all who got in!

My son received an acceptance letter yesterday - heā€™s an incoming freshman, Theater BFA. Very exciting, much relief. Now itā€™s me watching the email mailbox for the award letterā€¦

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! To all of you who are waiting for your decision letter I, like bergersrjr2001, live 5 min. away from the school, so I received my letter very quickly. I wish you all the best of luck!

Bonkersb-

Did you have the same audition experience as everyone who got accepted also?

Does anyone know of any one who DIDNā€™T do the exercises, interview, and card but got accepted?

Yes, it was fairly similar.

I got into the CalArts bfa acting program!

Im really excited and would love to connect with other people who have gotten in.

I still have to hear from 5 other schools, so the decision is quite up-in-the-air. But CalArts is a top school of mine.

Bonkers youā€™e local?! Where do you live?

After all this waiting I finally got accepted.

Best of luck to yaā€™ll! See all the others in a few months!

Somebody private messaged me about CalArts and I accidentally erased the message. If one of you messaged me, please do so again. My D was accepted two years ago, but opted to go to UCLA instead (and also declined CCM and Emerson in favor of UCLA). Iā€™m guessing the PM was about why she made that choiceā€¦and if she still thinks it was the right one. (She doesā€¦)

Has anyone recieved financial aid info?

Yes - on March 31st; an e-mail was sent telling my daughter to check online. You can probably just log in and check even if you didnā€™t get an e-mail.

i just had my audition and they asked me to do it over with a breathing exercise (while on my knees with my palms facing up). they then proceeded to interviewing me and handed me a card at the end and emphasized that i give them a call. they did not ask me to shadow the school, but asked me what i knew about the school. if they give you a card, does it mean youā€™re accepted? or did people only get accepted when asked to shadow the school?

I have the same question as abcman. I had the same audition experience.
