I've been hearing a lot of positive things about the college, but there must be some negatives right? If anyone has an opinion either way, let me know! :-)

As a parent whose kid is considering Cornell, I can say that the main disadvantage that comes to my mind is that the college consists of a bunch of distinctive, basically unrelated majors. This is fine for people who know exactly what they want to do. But those who are less certain could have problems. If you start in hum ec and find out that you don't like your major, you might not find something else within the college that suits you.

ps inter-college transfer is easy. I guess HumEc is the most transfered into one or something like that...so it must be great.

If you start in human ecology and decide you don't want to do it anymore you just transfer to another college within Cornell... it's not like dismantling a nuclear weapon.

So there are no negatives specific to human ecology...but just generally that there are separate colleges that make up the university?
