Has anyone heard from safeties yet?

I just wanted to know weather anyone has heard anything from their safeties. I recently heard that I got in from a super awesome day school near where I live. Now I won't die worrying on M9!

Yes we heard a few wks ago from a BS with rolling admissions that my daughter was accepted. I never thoughts of it as a safety but I did feel from day 1, they loved her and would offer a spot.

All of ours are M10

Same here. By safety school, as in BS safety, I’m pretty sure most of them come on M10.

Oh, my safeties were all day schools since my parents thought that is wasn’t worth paying for a BS safety and only day schools. However, keep in mind where I live the there are some day schools with more kids to HYPSM than even like Hotchkiss.

@squashisawesome NYC day schools notified in February, and the candidate reply date is M12! The timing is a little tricky for the kids who are applying to both day & boarding.

I was actually notified today. The letters are supposed to come tomorrow. However, my younger brother was wait listed (cuz of leagcy kids) and the AO called and said if there was a guarantee that we both go, the school would be willing to work with us. Keep in mind that we are both full-pay and they would have taken my brother except for the fact that they know that legacy kids have a higher chance of accepting the offer and not going somewhere else. My parents didn’t really like the school (for my brother, liked it for me) and are hoping he gets in somewhere that meets his needs better. I don’t know when I have to reply though since I don’t get the letter till tomorrow.

The day school Moosieboy applied to didn’t mail out admissions letters till Feb 28 and we got ours on Monday night, so not all announced in Feb.

The NYC day schools that notified on 2/12 are all part of ISAAGNY …those other schools that are here in the city but not part of ISAAGNY can notify whenever they want

Ah, I don’t know much about day schools. Over here in California, where I live anyway, not a great amount of good private day schools. Most of them are for rich, rich people, and have drug issues.

Is “ISAAGNY” pronounced “is agony”?

@GMTplus7 lol…it should be pronounced that way

Daughter got into both her “safeties”, although I haven’t heard anything about financial aid yet. The first one is her sister’s school, so I was pretty sure on that one. She had been admitted last year as an 8th grader (she had been applying since 6th grade) but we decided one more year as a day student was prudent. The second, called and let me know that she had been admitted and that they were supposed to look over the financial aid part over a week ago and I’ve heard nothing since. Now…that being said, my husband started his own company last year and he has yet to turn a profit, so we need a LOT of financial aid to go anywhere. I’m starting to get worried about school #2, took one look at our needs and said NO WAY. But they should at least let us know that we can come if we can pay, right?

I find out about my first at 5:00 today… It’s my first school and I am sort of glad I hear from my saftey first because my interview was amazing I think and I’m a legacy so I have a decent chance of getting in.

Got accepted into my safety school with a huge scholarship on like the 5th. yay lol.
