I have attended two four year colleges before, but am attending CC in the fall due to costs. Assuming I can maintain a 3.7 cummulative, and raise my ACT score above my current 32, is NU possible? I have been rejected once in high school, and again in college when I was still attending a 4 year. I have not seen anyone from a community college get accepted, so I am wondering if NU doesn’t really take CC students?
Don’t lose HOPE. However, I recommend you to have really impressive scores to show your academic confidence and ability. Do you have anything very special? (like a ongoing research, project or any lasting and fruitful activity?)
NU on their website says they accept under 15% of transfer applicants. How do you demonstrate fit in your essay and accomplishments?
Even so, 85% of transfer applicants need a plan for another school.

NU actually does recruit CC students, but not so much for their regular undergrad schools as for their School of Professional Studies, which is a part-time bachelors degree program that grants a B.Phil degree rather than a B.A. or B.S. The SPS offers far fewer majors, but those that are available seem to have similar (or maybe the same) requirements as those majors in Weinberg or elsewhere.
I’m certainly not saying that NU wouldn’t consider CC students as regular transfers, but given how difficult it is for anyone to transfer to NU, if you particularly want to go there you might want to look into the School of Professional Studies.
