We are looking for an online math teaching and assessment tool. I've looked at the websites for both Aleks and Indian Math Online.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has tried either one about your experiences. I'd also like to know if there's a better resource that I've missed.
Thanks for your input!

I've used and liked ALEKS, but mostly as brief review for my oldest son, who gets his main math instruction at a local university.

Thanks, tokenadult! Is it your sense that most people would use it that way, rather than as an instruction tool?

I know local friends who use ALEKS as the main instruction program and like it. The great thing about ALEKS is the free trial (you can take the free trial more than once), so you can try before you buy.

The Economist recently reviewed a new program, HeyMath! which is based on Singapore math concepts. It looks really good. I'm thinking of having my sixth grade daughter try it out-- particularly their math contest sections...

Indian Math Online just received a great review in the NY Times. Our 1st and 3rd grade daughters are now using it and love it. And we like it because we get a report of what they're strong/weak in! The site says it will be offering live tutoring sessions next month. We might try that out as finding a suitable math coach hasn't been easy...
