HASS information

Does anyone know if there is a source from which I can get information regarding the actual coursework in HASS-D classes? I want to avoid overloading myself my first semester, and I don't want to take a killer class. If no general source is available, does anyone have information on anyone of the following classes:
21L.421 Comedy
21L.448J Darwin and Design
21L.001 Foundations of Western Culture 1: Homer to Dante
21A.100 Introduction to Anthropology
14.72 Capitalism and its Critics
24.900 Introduction to Linguistics

You could look up the evaluations (certificates required) for each of those classes -- they'll tell you in a general way how many hours people spent on the class and what they thought of the professor.

The ratings tend to be somewhat skewed toward the good, since they're given at the end of the term, when everybody who totally hated the class either dropped or stopped coming. Still, they should be a little more accurate for most HASS classes, if only because many HASSes tie attendance to the final grade.

Wow, thanks! This is really useful

Sorry to revive an old thread but...does anyone know if econ classes count as HASS credits? For example, if you're doing a HASS minor and an Econ major, you need to take 9 HASS classes rather than 8, right? So 5 come from the minor, and say you take 2 other HASS-Ds in different subjects. Could the remaining 2 required HASS classes be econ classes from your major?

A great deal of economics classes are HASS electives and will help you fill out your HASS requirement.

You need to take at least two HASS-Ds (three if you're not taking a language), then you can take whatever you need to fill out the minor, and then the economics classes can be used to satisfy the remaining electives required (if there are any).

You should note all minors are different, requiring between 5-7 classes.

You also need to have a humanities concentration outside your major, although if you're planning on doing a HASS minor that should fix that problem. (To wit: A HASS concentration cannot be in your major, but your minor can encompass a HASS concentration.)

Ahhh, i see the little E symbol next to the classes...should have read the symbols help. :/ I am actually planning to minor in a language, so that should encompass one HASS-D, and then I'm planning to take one HASS-D from econ that also fulfills major requirements. So that leaves me with one HASS-D right? And do I need to take 2 CI-H classes too? Are they going to have to be separate from my majors/minors?
