I saw a posting in my local craigslist and they are looking for teachers. I meet the standards for my scores but I am only 18 and still in HS. It would seem to make little sense for them to hire a high schooler to teach a high schooler. Have you ever heard of anybody doing this?

I've heard of it from a friend, but I am unsure as to how true it is. According to him, he taught since he was 18.

I have a friend who is only a junior (16 years old) who is teaching/tutoring for Kaplan, so you should go ahead and take it/apply if you want the job.

naw, i just got an email saying i was rejected cuz i havent finished high school yet. unless youre supposed to lie about that

I know a girl who taught for them and goes to a top school now. However, I believe she took a course with them, so they know her.

You have to meet age requirements.

What criteria does Kaplan have? Do you need to score exceptionally well on SATs/ACTs to work for them? ---I'm just curious

according to them 680/680 on cr/m for the SAT or a 29 composite on the ACT (which is quite surprising given how easy that is). and apparently you have to have graduated from high school -.-. and then you just have to give a short presentation to demonstrate your teaching skills. darn it, stupid graduation requirement. i needed the money.
