Hey guys, I will be transferring to OSU in the fall and was wondering if any transfer students have received their housing info? I was accepted in April and turned in the required paperwork in May.

Thank You

Hey guys, I will be transferring to OSU in the fall and was wondering if any transfer students have received their housing info? I was accepted in April and turned in the required paperwork in May.

Thank You

I applied, my status used to say “evaluation”, and now it says “active” do you know what that means? it’s not under any of the possible ones OSU talks about (Complete/Evaluation/Received/Referred/Incomplete/Deferred/Wait-listed/Admit/Deny)

does this mean I’m in?

Hey monacle, that’s interesting. I’m sorry, but I don’t know what that status is. You should try giving them a call.

I’m in! just waiting on Northwestern

Hello, fellow transfer student here, got accepted in April and paid for everything in May.

I got an email back on June 2nd, stating this:

At this time, housing for the 11-12 academic year is exceptionally limited, and we are not able to offer on-campus housing to students who are not freshman students

I was able to talk to them on June 20th in person during my transfer orientation and was able to move up on the list in case any one cancels so I can get a dorm. Good luck.

So if you transfer to OSU for Fall 2011 there is no housing and you have to live off campus, basically?

Correct Lexyb000 you have to find off campus. The email claims:

At this time, housing for the 11-12 academic year is exceptionally limited, and we are not able to offer on-campus housing to students who are not freshman students

Unfortunately, due to scheduled renovations to two housing facilities for the 2011-2012 academic year, on-campus housing availability is exceptionally reduced. Because of high demand from first year students, it is our anticipation that we are not going to be in a position to offer on-campus housing accommodations to non-freshman students. We are recommending that any student who is in need of housing accommodations beginning autumn quarter contact the Office of Off-Campus Student Services for assistance with their search. this office maintains listings of off-campus housing accommodations near the campus area, and offers a great deal of services for students searching for suitable housing.

I wrote them back and asked why wasn’t I told this and all they said was they were going to put me on a waiting list and this:

This year with two halls being offline (losing almost 900 spaces) and a larger than normal incoming freshman class (up about 500 from last year) the availability is not there like it has been in the past.

Thanks for the info Mustang, Hopefully the wait list clears up. I am from out of state and now am completely stuck on what to do for housing.

Hey futures91210 I am also from out of state and in the same boat you are in. I am searching hardcore for some places to stay if I hear anything I will let you know! Just had orientation yesterday.
