Have anyone received provisional admission for fall 2014 from San Jose state?

You have been admitted to sjsu but not to your major

“Admit by Self-Report Data/Tran” here. I got an email telling me that I received a new message from SJSU, so I went on mySJSU to check and sure enough I’m in!

I just got the same message prompting me to check my mySJSU. Saw the message for admittance and my application status updated to “Admit by Self-Report Data/Tran”.

Intended major: Economics
CC GPA: 3.97

Just got accepted!
Major: Business Administration, Concentration in Marketing
GPA: Roughly 3.07

I didnt get into Computer Science. Would it be difficult to declare it later on?

I just got the email from SJSU and my application status updated to “Admit by Self-Report Data/Tran”.

Major: Accounting
GPA: 3.8

Congrats to all who got in. My question is should I attend SJSU if I didn’t get into my applied major (Mechanical Engineering), or should I attend SFSU, where I have gotten accepted into my applied major. I would rather attend SJ, but since I wasn’t accepted for M.E. I’m hesitant on going there now.

@Happymina21: What was your eligibility index for Software Engineering? or STATs (CSU GPA (W) and SAT (math and Critical Reading) or ACT result? Just trying to compare EI from last year to this year. Thanks

My son re-read the message in the portal and the first couple of lines say:

“I am pleased to inform you that you have been provisionally admitted to the major you selected on your application to San Jose State University for the Fall 2014 term.” The portal is only reporting UGE - Undergraduate Education as the program, so that is what confused me. I know that my son wants to be admitted to the major vs. applying later on.

Daughter and nephew were accepted yesterday. Provisional admit. In state, out of local area. My other nephew was denied. In state, out of local area.

I got the same thing too! It says: “Admit by Self-Report Data/Tran”. My major is aerospace engineering.

I got in–computer science changed to undeclared.

I am transferring with 3.3 GPA

Sjsu fall 2014 major impaction is up
http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-10079.11704.html</a></p>

Admitted Provisional with, CS changed to undeclared . I have 3.39 UC GPA and 35 on ACT. Is the threshold so high that they cant give me a CS acceptance.

Change of Major*
In accordance with SJSU¿s status as an impacted campus, you were admitted as an Undeclared major because you did not meet the impaction threshold to the major you chose on your application. Any student who wishes to change their major once enrolled must follow the process outlined at http://www.sjsu.edu/advising/for_students/change_of_major/</a>. Change of major cannot be made before the beginning of the Fall 2014 semester and is never guaranteed. "

@g4college14 According to http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-10079.11704.html</a>, the cut off for computer science was a 3.5GPA

How hard would it be to declare as a CS major later?

same question here, how hard is it to declare as compE major later? I think the deadline to reapply into the major is November 1st.

http://cs.sjsu.edu/Programs/cs_advis/cs_advise.html#Want_to_Change_of_Major_</a> describes the process of changing major to CS at SJSU, but does not give any indication of how selective the admission process to the major is.

Fall 2014 frosh and transfer admission thresholds are listed here:
