have media projections of election results ever been wrong?

i'm an oddity - i'm an international with CNN and Fox News and i'm very very interested in the current presidential elections! i'm also an obama supporter, so when NH was closing and media projections said clinton was winning, i wondered: could they ever be wrong? please let it be wrong =/

have media projections ever screwed up and left the anchors red faced?

Yea, all the time

<a href="http://www.gallerym.com/images/work/big/associated%20press_dewey_defeats_truman_L.jpg%5B/url%5D">http://www.gallerym.com/images/work/big/associated%20press_dewey_defeats_truman_L.jpg</a></p>

They alll thought Dewey won, and even wrote the paper that way..but Truman actually won :D

oh yeah i remember seeing that pic :D

but i guess they didn't have instantly and constantly updated information, instant communications, all the technology we have now plus teams of statisticians on computers with advanced software. how about in recent times?

Florida in 2000 with Bush and Gore..... IDK if that was media...but it was some kind of mistake.

McCain! my favourite Republican. hope CNN and AP are correct.

oh, i checked wikipedia - not a media booboo, but just a very small margin of victory in Florida. and some controversy regarding certain election officials favouring Bush. =/

If it has to be a republican, I wouldn't mind McCain. Actually, McCain is kind of awesome. Did you know he was a POW?
