Have you heard of this book before?

Is it a useful book for people who has low SAT score (1300-1500 out of 2400)? I got some positive feedbacks about this book.

Yet, now, its outdated and it's no longer sold in the market. I was wondering if its worth buying on Amazon or from outside sources/websites for a high price.

Thanks.

I’ve heard it’s EXPENSIVE. I also heard it’s a decent book, but I’m sure the BB is better. What are your scores in each area? What grade are you in?

I’m turning 12 (grade).

And I have 560 on math, usually around 530-560 (they go up and down), 470-530 (somewhere there), and usually 390-420 on Critical Reading (I’ve memorized 2400 SAT words already) so I’m really good with completion sentences, but horrible in passage type questions.

I have the blue book along with the Rocket. So i thought it might be useful to go over the Rocket, completely understand the book and memorize all the vocab in the book, and then try practicing the blue book to see if my score improved.

I heard from smart people (SAT: 2000-2300) that the book (Rocket Revolution) is useless.
But I also heard from some people (not sure what they got) that the book is very useful.
And you’re right, it’s expensive, but I am willing to buy it if it could help me a bit.

Thanks

actually, i got a 2000 on BB practice, then read over the important parts/skimmed the rest, and it raised me to a 2150 on the next test. I personally believe it is worth it, because the author REALLY knows what he is talking about.

good luck :)

Yes I bought 2 of them to read.

You’re doing it wrong JohnLee.
Get Grubers SAT Math. Once you’re getting in the 650+ for math, get Dr. Chungs
Use the BB to study CR and Writing
Get Direct Hits and study those words. Its only 400 but they come up the most out of any word list( I can email it to you if you want).
Good Luck. If you do this all, You may be able to get in the 1800 range :)

^^couldn’t have agreed more.

if your score is low. Use barron. Automatic increase 200 points.

Rocket review is good for writing (i think so), CR is ok, but math is not that good.
I only use BB and PR, but also get a reasonable score

RocketReview is stupid and expensive. Stupid in the case that there is no sure-fire way to increase Critical Reading. Other then practice, which you can do without a expensive prep book. Strategies are all out in the internet/college confidential, but the smart test taker does what he feels is best after practice.

What books do you recommend for writing portion of the SAT. What about math, and what about reading?

I bought the huge book for Grubers (full) and its like a 1000 pages long, and its extremely hard to self-study. I think Grubers book is a book designed for 1-1 tutoring.

Anyways. what do you guys think

Yes, I’ve heard of it before.

anything else to say

just read the tips over here: [The SAT Reading Comprehension: Basic Principles - FamilyEducation.com](SAT Critical Reading Tips)

thats the meat of it anyways

thanks, i’ll see if it helps! I hope i could someday raise my overall SAT score

Sorry to bother, but what does BB stand for?

^ blue book
Collegeboard’s official book

RR’s CR Guide is good. but I found their pratice test’s CR section super duper hard…
