My cousin who graduated from tech in 2007 told me he didn’t have a roommate his freshman year. It may have been because someone switched for someone else, but is it ever heard or possible of having no roommate?
its not very likely. especially with the increase in freshman enrollment expected.
Normally it’s unusual to have no roommate. In a regular dorm it has happened for part of the year where a roommate might leave for CO-OP. I’ve heard that in the Honors dorms there are some without a roommate. That’s not intentional but rather poor capacity utilization planning by the administration. That is, they reject too many applicants and then some of the students that accepted placement into the dorm cancel at the last moment.
My DS had 3 roommates before his freshman year even began and many other students were in put in temporary triples…so, I would say it is very unusual for a student to have no roommate.
